The Intelligence Advanced Research Projects Activity (IARPA) recently launched the Geopolitical Forecasting Challenge 2, which encourages solvers to develop innovative methods for utilizing crowdsourced information to create global issue forecasts. For methods that successfully demonstrate forecasts for global issues, individuals or teams can win an award of $250,000. “Accurate geopolitical forecasts are crucial to making informed, effective policy,” IARPA Program Manager Dr. Seth Goldstein said. “IARPA is interested in identifying the most effective ways to integrate human judgment with other types of data.”
