President Trump today signed S. 140, the “Frank LoBiondo Coast Guard Authorization Act of 2018,” into the law. The legislation mandates the creation of a National Maritime Security Advisory Committee that will advise the U.S. Coast Guard on cyber and other security risks. The committee will emphasize “enhancing the sharing of information related to cybersecurity risks that may cause a transportation security incident,” between Federal agencies and state, local, and tribal government; as well as other relevant stakeholders.
