On April 12, 2011 Senator Carper (D-Del.), on behalf of Senator Collins (R-Mass.), Senator Lieberman (ID-Conn.), and Senator Brown (R-Mass.), introduced the Information Technology Investment Management Act of 2011, S.801. The bill would require Executive Branch agency participation in real-time transparency of investment projects, as well as performance and governance reviews of all cost overruns in Federal IT projects. Similar to Carper's S.920, this bill would require agencies to use the Dashboard for reporting; employ EVM metric assessments and compliance reviews, and outline guidelines for CIOs to intervene in noncompliant projects. S.801 has been referred to the Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs.
