The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) is searching for information on improving its data repository and user interface design.

The Request for Information (RFI) is seeking “qualified contractors that can provide development and implementation support for a modern adaptable enterprise-wide data repository, data user access systems and tools, and data release system.”

The RFI for the development and support is being requested by the USDA’s National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS) which conducts survey data collection to produce statistics on U.S. agriculture. The RFI details the current structure of the NASS website as “not intuitive,” and not following a standard organizational structure for data users.

“The current Quick Stats database provides no easy way to understand what data it includes or easy access to the individual statistics desired,” the RFI states.

The response date for the RFI is May 16.
