The U.S. Army announced it has made 135 awards, totaling $12.1 billion, on its Information Technology Enterprise Solutions 3 Services (ITES-3S) contract. The ITES-3S contract is the Army’s primary mechanism to acquire commercial IT services. The contract has a 5-year base period, and four 1-year options – totaling a potential 9-year contract. While 135 companies were selected, the Department of Defense reported that it received 187 bids, after soliciting bids via the internet. While the companies have been selected, work locations and specific funding will be determined with each individual task order, the Army said.
