Nlyte Cloud-Based DCIM Tool Takes “Ouch” Out of DCOI

Even with the Data Center Optimization Initiative (DCOI) deadlines pushed out to 2020, Federal agencies face significant pressure to expedite cloud migrations and consolidate their compute environments in a secure and cost-effective manner. Now, with the passage of the Modernizing Government Technology (MGT) Act, agencies may need to demonstrate significant progress in this area to justify their MGT Act budget requests.

Nlyte Software has announced the availability of its new DCOI On-Demand solution, a deployment environment for its data center infrastructure management (DCIM) platform, to help agencies address these challenges.

“Our DCOI On-Demand solution provides Federal data center managers with a single view of their facilities and IT environments, as well as a comprehensive set of tools to plan, manage, secure, and optimize their data center operations,” said Jim Dodson, director, Federal civilian accounts, Nlyte.

Dodson also noted that Nlyte was the first DCIM vendor to provide a “software-only” solution to automate the monitoring and reporting requirements of DCOI, which is part of the larger Federal IT Acquisition Reform Act (FITARA) legislation. Last year, Nlyte released its DCOI Analytics Module to help streamline reporting of DCOI metrics for aggregation and analysis–from the agency/bureau level to department level teams.

“The new DCOI On-Demand solution provides a tool set to help agencies plan, execute, and report on DCOI mandates, while leveraging BI and Analytics tools to project and articulate actual cost savings in support of their IT modernization efforts–which will help them justify their requests for MGT Act funding,” Dodson said.

Nlyte’s DCOI On-Demand cloud-based solution has undergone numerous Federal and third party security evaluations, and is deployed on an infrastructure that is FedRAMP-compliant–helping agencies reduce risk and cut their implementation time.

“We take security very seriously and that’s why for years we have been the only Veracode-certified DCIM solution provider in the market,” said Doug Sabella, CEO and President of Nlyte. “Now we are pleased to be raising the security bar further by offering Federal agencies the same robust cloud service the private sector has been leveraging for years in a secure FedRAMP-compliant dedicated hosted environment that provides the security the U.S. Federal government demands.”
