The U.S. Navy is seeking cost proposals for research support in technologies that can be applied to its Resilient Cyber Warfare Capabilities (CWD) for NAVAIR Weapon Systems, according to a broad agency announcement. The NAVAIR CWD is used to defend access points to naval weapons systems, to operate in close-quarters battle, and to conduct cyber-smart acquisitions. For the CWD to achieve its objectives, the Navy wants to “develop the cyber workforce, invest in infrastructure and research and development (R&D), and establish standards and best practices” through this agency announcement. In seeking these proposals, the Navy wants to fill gaps in cyber warfare capabilities including securing weapons to survive and exploit cyber warfare through R&D practices.
