The U.S. Navy said it has approved the final draft of its Information Warfare Readiness Improvement Plan (IWRIP). The plan was initially drafted in late December 2018 by Program Executive Office Command, Control, Communications, Computers and Intelligence (PEO C4I). The plan aims to reduce or eliminate the need for onboard C4I troubleshooting assistance from outside sources. “It’s not good enough to be reactive to systems’ problems on ships or other platforms. We have to be smart and clever about being proactive,” Rear Adm. Carl Chebi said. The plan will be implemented in 2019 and will better position the service to “compete, deter and win,” the admiral said.
