MITRE Engenuity Sets Cyber Defense R&D Project

MITRE Engenuity announced on Nov. 12 the launch of its Center for Threat-Informed Defense, which describes itself as a “collaboration with industry to improve cyber defense at scale through collaborative research and development.” The center counts among its “founding research partners” AttackIQ and Bank of America, and American Express, Siemens, and Booz Allen Hamilton among its “founding research sponsors.” MITRE Engenuity was launched on the same day by MITRE Corp., a well-known operator of federally-funded research and development centers. MITRE Corp. described MITRE Engenuity as a “tech foundation” that will  “advance its mission of solving problems for a safer world by working with the private sector to strengthen critical infrastructure.”  The foundation, MITRE Corp. said, gives the organization “a new pathway to work with industry, academia, and other organizations beyond its work with the federal government.”
