The EastWest Institute (EWI) on Thursday released a new report providing guidance on how to make tomorrow’s “smart cities” secure and safe through effective technology management by executives and administrators. The guide provides recommended actions and identifies related challenges in cybersecurity, cyber resilience, privacy and data protection, and collaboration and coordination in governance. “City officials must be aware of key lessons and best practices to implement and integrate technologies that make Smart Cities for improved public safety and public health. This guide was created for this express purpose,” said Unisys CEO Peter Altabef in an EWI press release.
