The software industry group BSA | The Software Alliance offered its support for the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Act in the Senate. The organization includes members such as Apple, Microsoft, IBM, and Oracle. “Strong cybersecurity policies are essential not only for U.S. national security, but also our economic prosperity, as software powers every sector of our economy,” the organization stated. The bill, which would rename the National Protection and Programs Directorate to the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency, passed the House in December 2017, and is likely to come before the Senate this month. “We look forward to working with the Senate to bring this important legislation into law,” the organization noted.
