A group of 31 organizations united by privacy policy interests urged Senate Judiciary Committee leaders in an August 29 letter to give prompt consideration to President Trump’s two most recent nominations to the Privacy and Civil Liberties Oversight Board.


The White House said Tuesday that President Trump intends to nominate Travis LeBlanc, former chief of the Enforcement Bureau at the Federal Communications Commission, and Aditya Bamzai, formerly an attorney-adviser with the Department of Justice and now an associate law professor at the University of Virginia, to the Privacy and Civil Liberties Oversight Board (PCLOB).


The Federal Communications Commission announced on July 27 that it plans to fine AT&T $106,426 for violating E-rate by overcharging Florida district schools for telephone services. AT&T plans to contest the decision.
