The United States Transportation Command (USTRANSCOM) released a request for information yesterday for IT support services for the Surface Deployment and Distribution Command (SDDC), with a focus on shifting to cloud. Responses are due by January 24.

The services requested include support services for both on-prem and cloud, support with migrating applications to cloud, and the decommissioning of on-prem infrastructure. The RFI also includes requests for redeveloping applications to be cloud-native. While moving to the cloud is a priority for SDDC, the RFI notes the importance of maintaining current applications, both on-prem and in the cloud.

“The contractor shall support the SDDC On-Prem IT infrastructure until decommissioned,” the RFI notes.

The RFI also asks potential contractors to offer database engineering support, operating system support, and assistance with remediating and mitigating vulnerabilities. The potential contract would include cybersecurity artifacts to support the Department of Defense Risk Management Framework.

For interested parties, SDDC requests a white paper to address the RFI, with evidence of prior experience.
