Rep. Robin Kelly, D-Ill., announced today that she was appointed to three subcommittees of the House Committee on Energy and Commerce. Kelly is joining the subcommittees on health, energy, and consumer protection and commerce. She was previously the ranking member on the Committee on Oversight and Reform Subcommittee on Information Technology. On the Subcommittee, Kelly worked on legislation dealing with IT modernization and cybersecurity. In a statement, Kelly’s office said “she will bring this extensive expertise to the Subcommittee on Consumer Protection and Commerce, which has jurisdiction over data security, digital privacy and other protection issues.”
