Chief information officers from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and NASA are scheduled to testify at the House Government Operations Subcommittee’s hearing on Dec. 11 to discuss results of the House Oversight and Reform Committee’s ninth FITARA (Federal Information Technology Acquisition Reform Act) Scorecard, MeriTalk has learned.

Scheduled as witnesses are Renee Wynn, CIO at NASA since 2015, and Beth Cappello, who became Acting CIO at DHS last month after taking the Deputy CIO position earlier this year. Prior to that, she held CIO and acting CIO titles for DHS’ Immigration and Customs Enforcement organization.

The FITARA Scorecard debuted in 2015 and tracks progress by Federal CFO Act agencies on an evolving range of IT fronts that have included incremental development; risk reporting; portfolio management; data center consolidation; software licensing; modernization efforts; CIO status and reporting structure; cybersecurity; and Federal Information Security Management Act compliance.
