The Government Accountability Office (GAO) is looking to modernize its IT, and is looking for industry help to develop a new enterprise architecture, according to a request for information released October 3.

The RFI notes that GAO is looking for a one-year contract to evaluate the agency’s needs, develop a plan, and create a roadmap to complete it. The legislative agency is looking to industry for the approaches to “allow GAO to methodically achieve the enterprise IT architecture modernization over time that enables enterprise-class capabilities, scalability, and resiliency, while minimizing GAO’s capital expenditures and reducing operating costs.”

The RFI highlights three areas for GAO’s modernization efforts:

  • Enterprise IT Strategy;
  • Enterprise Content Management
  • Talent Management

GAO is looking for feedback that will include business user feedback and input from the agency’s IT professionals. The RFI also encourages contractors to use tools at the FISMA-moderate level, note the contracts they would leverage to procure test solutions, and comment on the structure of the solicitation.

Responses are due by October 10.
