The Department of Homeland Security announced last month that it will offer $800,000 in grants to startups and small businesses for blockchain counterfeiting solutions through its Science and Technology Directorate’s Silicon Valley Innovation Program. The grants will be spread out over four phases. To be eligible for the grants, companies must not have received a government contract in the past year of over $1 million, and must have less than 200 employees.  DHS is looking for solutions covering a variety of uses cases including digital documents related to travel, immigration, cross-border oil and raw material movements.
