SaaS applications available through AWS Marketplace

Amazon Web Services (AWS) announced that customers can buy Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) applications through AWS Marketplace. The software includes products from Alert Logic, Aspera, Avalara, Bitium, Cloudinary, Cloudyn, Datadog, Datapath, Dome9 Security, Druva, Dynatrace, HERE, NetApp, New Relic, Pitney Bowes, Qubole, Signiant, Solano Labs, Solodev, Sumo Logic, and Trend Micro. Customers who use multiple types of software across their companies can pay for their products in one billing system through AWS.

Octo to Support GSA’s IAE Modernization

Octo Consulting Group (Octo) announced on Nov. 16 that it was awarded a multimillion-dollar Task Order on the General Service Administration’s (GSA) Alliant Small Business (ASB) contract. Under the contract, Octo will support GSA’s Integrated Award Environment (IAE) modernization effort, offering cloud services, open source technologies, security, agile programming, and a DevOps deployment model.

3 Universities Get DoD Contract to Research Trauma Care

The Department of Defense (DoD) selected Oregon Health and Science University, the University of Pittsburgh, and the University of Colorado for a research contract on ways to improve trauma care. The contract will span a decade and can be worth up to $90 million. The universities will also create a network of trauma systems to gather data to improve injury care across the country.
