Representative Susie Lee, D-Nev., will be taking over the congressional oversight of Veterans Affairs (VA) Department’s electronic health record modernizing by leading the Technology Modernization subcommittee of the House Committee on Veterans Affairs. The VA’s 10-year, $10 billion modernization effort will connect with the Department of Defense’s record management system. Rep. Lee is succeeding Rep. Jim Banks, R-Ind., who is now serving as the group’s ranking member. She will be joined on the subcommittee by Reps. Conor Lamb, D-Penn., Julia Brownley, D-Calif., and Joe Cunningham, D-S.C. Republicans joining the subcommittee are not yet known.
