MeriTalk Buys Cyber Smoke Fed IT Social Networking Program

Cyber Smoke

MeriTalk announced July 8 that it purchased Cyber Smoke, which hosts bi-monthly gatherings of Federal IT and industry officials that have become “must-attend” exchanges for government and industry in the Washington area. Terms of the purchase from Intelvative were not disclosed.

MeriTalk, a public-private partnership focused on improving the outcomes of government IT, said the refreshed Cyber Smoke programs will feature focused themes and special guests throughout the year.

The program for the October 3 event will highlight National Cybersecurity Awareness Month. Cyber Smoke programs are held every other month at Morton’s Restaurant on Connecticut Avenue in Washington. The events are open to all and free to attend.

“Cyber Smoke is where government and industry folks from tech go to get social,” said Steve O’Keeffe, founder of MeriTalk and vice chair of the USO-Metro. “It’s not about Smoke, it’s about meeting folks and building relationships that help government mission success – and partnerships are critical to our shared success. That’s why we’re so excited about working with USO-Metro as our giving partner.”

“We work with MeriTalk across a range of programs, from our Annual Awards Dinner to the CIO Cricket match, and more,” said Elaine Rogers, president and CEO USO-Metro. “We’re excited to work with them on Cyber Smoke – and applaud their commitment to corporate giving and to supporting our troops and their families.”

The next Cyber Smoke will be on July 18 and remaining 2019 dates for the program are: October 3, November 7, and December 12. For more information visit: www.meritalk.com/event/the-stars-and-stripes-cyber-smoke/
