Harris received National Security Agency certification Monday for its Harris Falcon III RF-300H wideband HF manpack radio system, which provides beyond-line-of-sight communications without a satellite for military personnel.

The radio system meets NSA’s criteria by providing encryption along with fast data speeds and intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) capabilities. The radio system delivers data up to 10 times faster and is 20 percent smaller and lighter than previous radios.

“This RF-300H NSA certification allows us to continue providing leading-edge secure communications technology to the warfighter who needs to be prepared for any situation,” Chris Young, president of Harris Communication Systems, said in a statement.

The technology works in conjunction with U.S. military technologies and Partnership for Peace forces.

Harris launched the new radio system in February to transmit high-level security images, maps, and other large data files from beyond-line-of-sight environments in a compact package. It also features either a commercial GPS or a Selective Availability Anti-Spoofing Module (SAASM).

“The new Harris RF-300H manpack radio provides more security and enhanced wideband HF than any other radio in the marketplace,” said Young. “The RF-300H delivers an advanced solution for warfighters facing today’s complex environment.”
