As government IT continues to get more complex, continuing education is an increasingly important ingredient for keeping up with the latest advancements.

That’s why MeriTalk launched UniversIT, an online library of training courses focused on all things government IT.

The courses – which are complementary and provide an opportunity to earn Continuing Professional Education (CPE) credits – focus on a range of current topics including innovating with digital transformation, cultivating a culture of security and innovation, and leveraging next-generation technologies to further mission aims.

“As we approach the one-year anniversary of the shift to max telework, government and industry alike need access to educational resources that meet them where they are,” said Steve O’Keeffe, MeriTalk founder. “We created UniversIT to provide a dynamic space for easily digestible training courses – bringing our readers the content they want, when they want it.”

Each of the initial six UniversIT courses, which launch on a biweekly basis, runs three to four sessions, with one CPE per course awarded to those who complete them.

UniversIT’s inaugural course – “Cloud 101: Enabling and Security Government Digital Transformation” – launched on Feb. 10. The course features instruction from AWS experts on how to successfully migrate to the cloud, how to build infrastructure that supports both remote and onsite work, and how to approach cloud acquisition to maximize benefits.

Then on Feb. 24, UniversIT will launch the second course, “Building a Cloud Security Culture.” Participants will learn from AWS instructors about the benefits, capabilities, and best practices of DevOps, the implementation of security through increased automation, and the procurement of the FedRAMP package.

The next four course installments will launch in March and April, and cover a range of topics centered on advanced technologies and architectures:

  • “Meeting the Mission at the Tactical Edge” – launching March 10;
  • “Internet of Military Things – a Deep Dive” – launching March 24;
  • “Faster, Smarter, Stronger: Implementing AI/ML in Government” – launching April 7; and
  • “Dive into Data Lakes: Centralized Data Enables Mission Success” – launching April 21

Ready to dive in? Head over to MeriTalk’s UniversIT to watch these training courses designed to expand your government IT knowledge and keep you current with the latest technology advancements. See you in class.
