CSRA Gets $59 Million NAVSEA Task Order

The Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) has awarded CSRA a $59 million task order in support of its Research and Systems Engineering Directorate (SEA 05) by designing, building, delivering, and maintaining the Navy’s ships. The Task Order has a one-year base period and four one-year options. “We are proud to enter our fourth decade supporting all facets of ship design for the U.S. Navy,” said Executive Vice President Ken Deutsch, head of CSRA’s Defense Group. “This win is a testament to our team. By awarding this task order for the fourth consecutive time, the Navy has reaffirmed CSRA’s commitment to NAVSEA and our dedication to their mission.”

Intel Makes Advances in Data Center Storage

Intel announced major data center storage advances including “Ruler” form factor for Intel SSDs, an all-new, solid-state drive form factor enabling up to 1PB of storage in a 1U server rack in the future; Intel Optane technology dual port SSDs and Intel 3D NAND dual port SSDs for mission-critical applications; and an updated SATA family of SSDs for data center, targeted at HDD replacement. “Data drives everything we do–from financial decisions to virtual reality gaming, and from autonomous driving to machine learning–and Intel storage innovations like these ensure incredibly quick, reliable access to that data,” said Bill Leszinske, Intel vice president, Non-Volatile Memory Solutions Group (NSG), and director, strategic planning, marketing and business development.
