IBM

With over 17 years of IT experience across both Commercial and Federal, Michael Schwartz is the Director for Watson and Cloud Platform for the Federal Market.  Michael began his career with IBM as an AIX Top Gun after graduating with his Masters in Decision and Information Sciences from the University of Florida.  Growing from his Unix base Michael expanded into peripheral systems and hardware, becoming a SME in Tivoli Storage Manager and engaging in SAN/tape architecture.  After earning his role as a HW architect, Michael changed his focus into IBM systems and went on to become a cross-brand systems specialist in the Law Enforcement space.  Seven years later, Michael returned to services as a Capture Manager supporting the National Security and Justice space.  Eager to get back into delivery Michael took on a Program Manager role at Microsoft, supporting the FBI and its mission.  After two years he returned to a sales role as the Customer Success Manager for Federal for Dynamics CRM.  Michael rejoined IBM in 2015, stepping into a role driven by his fervor for Cloud, as the Cloud Client Executive and Chief Evangelist of Cloud for Federal.  Prior to this role,  he drove solutions for Watson and SaaS for IBM as the Client Unit Executive for Federal Cloud and Cognitive across Civilian, Healthcare, Intelligence, and FSI communities.  Michael is a father of four wonderful children, and spends most of his free time cycling, losing to his children in soccer, or cheering at swim meets.
