Louis Farrell

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement

Louis M. Farrell is the Deputy Assistant Director of the Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP) at U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). He has served in this position since July 2006. As the SEVP Deputy Assistant Director, Mr. Farrell expanded the program’s mission and staff to better serve students, schools and other stakeholders. These expansions include increasing the number of ICE field agents who enforce regulations and statutes, creating the SEVP Analysis and Operations Center, launching the SEVP Response Center and improving SEVIS, which is used by nearly 50,000 members of the law enforcement, national security and academic communities. Previously, Mr. Farrell spent 35 years in the U.S. Coast Guard, retiring as a Captain. His Coast Guard experience included the training and management of personnel, finance and operational programs. He is a graduate of the U.S. Coast Guard Academy.
