Jim Gfrerer

Jim Gfrerer has over 28 years of Marine Corps service and was previously Assistant Secretary and Chief Information Officer at U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). In this role, he led the largest single centralized IT portfolio in the Federal Government of 8,000 IT professionals, plus an additional 8,000 full-time contractors.
While at VA, he implemented a Digital Transformation strategy of the nearly $6B portfolio which modernized the massive VA Enterprise. Mr. Gfrerer’s background also includes being Executive Director at Ernst & Young and Senior Advisor at the Department of State for cyber and intelligence activities.
