Jeneen Iwugo drives strategic program integrity operations as Acting Director of the Center for Program Integrity at the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). Leveraging 20+ years of government leadership expertise, she architects policy frameworks and orchestrates transformative change management initiatives across the nation’s largest healthcare programs.
As Acting Director of CPI, Jeneen commands executive oversight of fraud, waste, and abuse prevention across Medicare, Medicaid, and the Marketplace. She directs enterprise-wide enforcement operations including Risk Adjustment Data Validation (RADV) audits of Part C plan sponsors, Medicaid program integrity enforcement across all 50 states, agent and broker fraud elimination in Federally Facilitated Marketplace exchanges and she oversees the Medicare provider enrollment, suspension, and revocation processes.
In 2025, Jeneen’s leadership delivered unprecedented results:
- Prevented $5 billion in fraudulent claims from being paid from CMS
- Revoked over 5,000 providers and suppliers for inappropriate conduct
Prior to this role, Jeneen commanded operational excellence as Deputy Director of the CMS Center for Clinical Standards and Quality (CCSQ), directing 800 FTEs, managing 200 contracts, and executing a $1.5 billion annual budget. She engineered comprehensive legislative, regulatory, and contractual reforms that fundamentally restructured the QIO program.
