Colonel Bobby Saxon, USA Retired, is the Chief Technology Officer for the Center for Consumer Information and Insurance Oversight (CCIIO), Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Service (CMS). Colonel Saxon is responsible for leading the architecting, development, and implementation for all information technology for the Health Insurance Marketplace and Affordable Care Act.

Colonel Saxon has over 25 years of information technology leadership experience including seven years at the Pentagon. At the Pentagon, Bobby served as an IT Division Chief on the Army staff and as the Assistant Deputy Chief Information Officer (CIO) for Operations and Plans.

Colonel Saxon holds a Master of Science degree in Government Information Leadership, w/CIO concentration, from the National Defense University and a Bachelor of Business Administration in Management degree from Georgia Southern University. Bobby is also a
graduate of the National Defense University CIO Leadership Development Program where he was the AFCEA Distinguished Graduate.

Colonel Saxon has been recognized for government and industry awards including the FedScoop 50 Federal Leadership Award and the CIO Magazine “Ones to Watch” Award. His military awards and badges include the Legion of Merit, Bronze Star, Combat Action Badge,
Paratrooper Badge, and Air Assault Badge.
