NTCA–The Rural Broadband Association, a broadband industry group that represents more than 800 independent and community-based telecommunications companies in rural and small-town America, announced Friday that it elected new board members at its fall board meeting. Kevin Beyer, general manager of Minnesota-based Acira, was elected chairman of NTCA. The NTCA board also elected Allen Hoopes, CEO and chairman of Wyoming-based Silver Star Communications, as vice chairman of the board, and Fred Johnson, EVP and general manager of Alabama-based Farmers Telecommunications Cooperative, as secretary and treasurer. Additionally, Don Richards from the Texas-based law firm Richards, Elder, & Gibson was re-elected general counsel for the board.
