The U.S. Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) has announced the award of a $493 million task order to General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT) to help support technical and mission support services across USSOCOM.

The task order – awarded in December 2023 – will support not only USSOCOM but also the combatant command’s service’s on a one-year base period with four options years.

“We are proud of our long-standing partnership with USSOCOM and its partners and look forward to continuing this important work to meet its current and future mission needs,” said Brian Sheridan, GDIT’s senior vice president for Defense Division.

USSOCOM’s current capabilities extend far into many different fields including weapons and electronic attacks, and cyberplace operations, among others.

The announcement also comes as the military service branches are increasingly employing cloud and AI technologies to advance their missions.
