Federal agencies have made significant progress in adopting artificial intelligence (AI), moving beyond experimentation to identify meaningful mission applications. As AI capabilities evolve, agencies must redesign the workflows, operations, and governance needed to translate that progress into lasting mission impact.

These workflows could improve efficiency, reduce workforce burden, and strengthen mission outcomes. For The Agentic Future report, MeriTalk, in collaboration with ICF, surveyed 100 IT decision-makers from civilian, defense, and national security agencies to examine how they are preparing for this shift.
