Vanessa Hunt

Vanessa Hunt is an experienced technologist and thought leader with a track record of modernization for public and federal agencies using AI and hybrid cloud technology. A 19-year veteran at IBM, she was promoted to General Manager of IBM’s Federal Technology team in 2024, overseeing a $1B budget and managing over 350 professionals.

Previously, Vanessa served as the Managing Director of New York State, where she led various IT projects that are still used today in New York City’s smart city infrastructure and other public office departments, like the NYPD.

Outside of her primary role as GM, she continues to support her local municipalities as the IBM Senior State Executive for New York State and the Executive Advocate for the State of Virginia.

Additionally, Vanessa holds a board seat as a Director of the Business Council of New York State, where she continues her thought leadership in technology projects supporting NYC and other state-led programs. Born in New Zealand, she has lived in Australia, and France, and currently resides in the U.S. with her husband and three children.
