Steve Korns

Steve Korns is Vice President, Technology and Chief Technology Officer of General Dynamics Information Technology’s Intelligence Solutions Division, a worldwide organization providing information technology and services to the U.S. government, C4ISR communities, and their coalition partners.  The division offers enterprise-wide engineering and logistics support services to include design, installation, operation, network administration, maintenance, configuration management, help-desk, network ops and logistics management. As the chief technologist, he drives the division’s technology, innovation strategy and processes, as well as supports new business identification and capture.

Mr. Korns has 30 years of experience delivering IT and cyber security solutions in the public and private sectors.  He served in the U.S. Air Force for 25 years (Colonel, retired) and has led large-scale IT organizations and acquisition programs, including units specialized in cyber, network and satellite operations. Prior to his current role, he managed the Cyber Security Consulting Practice at CenturyLink, served as Director of Cyber Solutions at L-3 Communications and during his military service was a key senior leader on the DoD team that conceived of and activated U.S. CYBER COMMAND where he led a highly specialized, multi-national team of offensive and defensive cyber analysts.  As Director of the DoD Global Cyber Operations Center, he directed network operations and cyber defense for 64 global cyber operations centers spanning the world’s largest military network.  He was the Senior DoD Liaison and Chief of Staff in establishing the U.S. National Cyber Security Center at DHS.  He also served in an advisory capacity to the Inter-Agency Cyber Security Policy Committee.  He holds a Masters in Strategic Management from the U.S. Air War College, and a Masters in IT Systems Management from The Hawaii Pacific University.
