Jonsi Stefansson, CTO and Vice President of Cloud Data Services at NetApp, is an expert, thought leader, and entrepreneur in both product/software development and operations. His experience is wide ranging, running the gamut from start-ups to large enterprises. Jonsi was the CEO of Greenqloud, which NetApp acquired in 2018, and spearheaded Greenqloud’s transition from an IaaS company to a pure software company focused on orchestrating Kubernetes (now known as the NetApp Service Delivery Engine). The NetApp Service Delivery Engine now runs and manages Azure NetApp Files (ANF), Cloud Volumes Service (CVS), and Cloud Backup Service (CBS).

Formerly, Jonsi served as Technical Director of Opera Software and led scale out and deployment of the Opera Mini project, which, boomed to a global userbase of 450 million. Thereafter, Opera Software executed a successful initial public offering (IPO) and was later sold in a $1.2 billion transaction. Jonsi started his career at IBM, going on to become the CEO of a highly successful start-up company.

Today, in his position as CTO & VP of Cloud Data Services, Jonsi oversees the development and engineering of pivotal products, including ANF, CVS, CBS, NKS, Data Fabric, Nautilus, and Quark.
