Jane Zhu

Veritas Products Organization

Jane Zhu is Senior Vice President of Data Protection and Governance Engineering for the Veritas Products organization.

In this role, Zhu is responsible for Veritas’ Data Protection Portfolio, which includes NetBackup and Veritas Appliances.

Zhu has more than 20 years of experience leading engineering organizations to build enterprise products/solutions in the areas of data protection, big data management and analytics, database security, application life cycle management, middleware, and network application monitoring.

Zhu joined Veritas from Dell EMC, where she was vice president of the Data Protection Software Group and general manager for Mozy Business Unit. During her tenure at Dell EMC, Zhu managed $1B+ enterprise backup and recovery product lines (NetWorker and Avamar). She was also responsible for bringing three new products to market – Enterprise Copy Data Management (eCDM), Cloud-based Analytics Service (eCDA), and Storage Integrated Data Protection (ProtectPoint). Before joining EMC, Zhu served as vice president of Engineering for TIBCO Software, where she was responsible for Security Information and Event Management product portfolios. Prior to that, she held executive engineering positions at IPLocks (acquired by Fortinet) and Borland.

Zhu holds Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in Computer Science and Engineering from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, as well as a Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering/Operations Research from Kansas State University.
