Dennis Gibbs

R. Dennis Gibbs is a Solutions Architect at General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT) in Herndon, VA. He has over 30 years of experience focused on large-scale software development in the Federal Government space. As a Solutions Architect for GDIT, Mr. Gibbs leads several technology insertion initiatives and Communities of Interest focused on Agile development, Cloud, and Big Data. Prior to his current responsibilities, Mr. Gibbs was a Program Manager at GDIT, leading high-performance teams on a large Big Data program for the Intelligence Community. He oversaw a team of 60 engineers performing development and maintenance working with technologies such as Hadoop, Amazon Web Services (AWS), and Apache Spark. He previously served at Boeing as Chief Engineer of another Big Data program for the Intelligence Community. Other engagements include Engility/TASC and HP/EDS focusing on Systems Engineering.
Mr. Gibbs is a published author on Software Project Management and regularly speaks at industry conferences on Software Development. Mr. Gibbs holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science from the University of Maryland, as well as multiple certifications in Project Management, Software Development, and Cloud computing.
