Bob Carter is the Vice President of Public Sector for Apptio, an IBM Company. In this capacity, Bob oversees all business development, sales and operations for Apptio in the Public Sector. Apptio provides a purpose-built financial analytics platform for all IT investments and decisions.
Simply, “How do I maximize my IT investments in support of the Mission?” The underlying construct of the Apptio solution framework is Technology Business Framework, TBM and FinOps. Bob was hired by Apptio in 2017 after serving as Vice President of Federal Operations at an Andreessen Horowitz portfolio company. He has worked in IBM’s Big Data and Watson Sectors.
He holds a BSEE from Tufts University. Loves baseball, golf, politics and vigorous debates. Bob still plays baseball in a Men’s 48+ wood bat league.
