Anil Karmel is a solutions architect working in the Network and Infrastructure Engineering division at Los Alamos National Laboratory. He has been in the IT Industry for over ten years, working with various Fortune 500 companies and government in the areas of Enterprise Virtualization, Messaging & Collaboration. As the architect of LANL's Virtualization and Collaboration solutions, Mr. Karmel deployed the laboratory’s first private cloud, “Infrastructure on Demand” and evolved that offering into the federal government’s first secure hybrid cloud. He also developed LANL’s “Enterprise Collaboration Suite” consisting of a suite of tools allowing users to collaborate how, when and where they want on a variety of endpoints including smartphones, tablets and zero clients. Anil has won awards from DOE/NNSA, GCN, Information Week and SANS and is frequently quoted in federal IT publications.
