More mandates, more problems – FDCCI Successes with PortfolioStat?

With the recent integration of the Federal Data Center Consolidation Initiative (FDCCI) into PortfolioStat, many Feds are scratching heads about what now will constitute successful data center consolidation. As the May GAO report highlighted, there is a lack of transparency in what determines cost savings and metrics for data center consolidation. Under PortfolioStat 2.0, the rest of FY 2014 is full of new reporting deadlines in an attempt to streamline agencies’ approach to IT infrastructure management.

This roundtable will address questions like:

Can we expect more efficient FDCCI progress with this new reporting structure?
Will the new PortfolioStat 2.0 reports – the Information Resource Management (IRM) strategic plan, the Enterprise Roadmap and the Integrated Data Collection (IDC) tool - capture better metrics and if so, what will they be?
Will agencies be able to show real cost savings by the 2015 deadline?

Dr. Michael Valivullah, Chief Technology Officer, National Agricultural Statistics Service for the U.S. Department of Agriculture highlighted automation issues within one of the largest Federal agencies, and we also provided updates from all agencies in attendance.
